走讀世界遺產的第一堂課介紹非洲世界遺產點馬利共和國的廷布克圖（Timbuktu），這裏不僅是昔日非洲的貿易站也是學術中心，也擁有三萬冊古籍手稿，很巧的是今天UNESCO的FB介紹了聯合國教科文組織如何保護這些手稿。而更重要的是這項拯救行動，強化了當地人民的身分認同。
